"Man bites dog". The rotifer Asplanchna is regarded a very busy predator of other planctonic rotifers. In this case the big Asplanchna specimen was tucked under the cover slide while the smaller Cephalodellla catellina was still freely moving and started picking at the cuticula of Asplachna but was not capable of destroying it.
