Cephalodella tenuior Gosse 1886
Cephalodella tenuior, an eyeless Cephalodella species with medium toes (total length vs. toe length: 4:1). The diet of this population was Cryptomonads (Cryptomonas ovata) which gives the conspicuous coloration of the stomach/ intestinum.

Cephalodella tenuior, another specimen (slightly compressed by the cover glass) from the same location; the arrow points to the gastric glands with granules.

Cephalodella tenuior, another specimen from the same location; the arrow points to two light refracting bodies in the cerebral ganglion.

Cephalodella tenuior, another specimen from the same location; this connection between the two light light refracting bodies (arrow) could be observed in several specimens.

Cephalodella tenuior, lateral view; the arrow points to a septum in the toes which is reported also from "C. tenuior Group A" (by Donner 1950) and "C. tenuior Group C" (by Koste & Poltz 1984). Specimen from (3)

Two images of a resting egg of a monogonont rotifer. It was found in the same sample and may be a resting egg of C. tenuior. In the optical transect of the upper image the egg may be confused with the resting egg of Polyarthra, but by focusing on the surface (lower image) it becomes evident that it is no Polyarthra egg.

Cephalodella tenuior, trophi. (type B). The arrows point to the pleural rods.
