| Pompholyxophrys punicea : although this protist looks like an heliozoon this organism is a filose amoeba with a silicous test. Because of the chance of mistaken identity Pompholyx is mentioned in both groups. In contrast to P. ovuligera this species has spherical scales. (1) |
